My work began with a piece of jewelry designed for my wife.

The first piece,Coalescence, was created after we had been dating for a year. I wanted to mark the occasion with something more meaningful than a conventional anniversary gift, so I designed a pendant around the idea of two lives coming together.

Jewelry continued to become a way for me to mark anniversaries, milestones, and meaningful moments. Over time, those individual pieces developed into a broader exploration of structure, material, connection, and form. In 2026, I founded Durán Designs and began releasing select work publicly for the first time.

My background is in sculpture, architecture, and material experimentation. I hold a BA in Sculpture from the University of Dallas and a Master of Architecture from Cornell University. I am also a licensed architect with more than 16 years of experience practicing in New York, Shanghai, Los Angeles, and Dallas. That background shapes the way I approach jewelry: through proportion, structure, balance, tension, and the relationship between materials.

Each piece begins as a design study but is intended to become something personal—an object that can be worn, held, gifted, and carried forward.

Designed and produced in New York, the work sits between architecture, sculpture, and adornment: small-scale objects with weight, precision, and emotional intent.
